Sandy Park is a few miles out from the centre of Exeter, the nearest station is Digby & Sowton which is on the Exeter to Exmouth line. There are shuttle buses to the stadium from Exeter St David’s station and the City centre, full details are on the Exeter Chiefs’ website.
TRAIN: First Great Western run a direct service from London Paddington and Reading to Exeter.
From Reading advance fares are from £19.00 for the outward journey. For those wanting to make it a day trip, the last train back from Exeter St Davids departs at 8:44pm, so could be a bit tight on time getting back to the station. Fares on that service are from £39.90. For those travelling back on the Sunday, advance fares are from £26.50
From London Paddington the advance fares are from £23.00 for the outward journey and from £47.10 to return on the 8:44pm on Saturday, returning on Sunday advance fares are from £32.00.
Journey times are around 2½ hours from London, and 30 minutes less from Reading.
South West Trains run a direct service from London Waterloo & Basingstoke to Exeter. Advance fares are from £20.50 (outward) and £23.60 (back) from London and £18.40 (outward) and £21.50 (back) from Basingstoke – fares assume travelling back on the Sunday, the last train back on the Waterloo line is at 8:25pm, so a very quick journey back from the match would be required.
Journey time is about 3½ hours from Waterloo and 45 minutes less from Basingstoke.
COACH: National Express run direct coaches from London Victoria to Exeter, from Reading-Calcot for most journeys you would need to change at Heathrow or Bristol.
From London fares are from £5 for the outward journey, and from Reading-Calcot, the outward fare is from £19.40
For those planning a day trip it there is an overnight coach departing at 1:05 on Sunday morning direct to both Reading-Calcot and London Victoria, with fares from £13.50 to Reading and £13.80 to London.
For those travelling back later on Sunday, fare are from £19.40 to Reading-Calcot and £5.00 to London.
CAR: For those driving – see details from the Exeter Chief’s website – There is no parking at the stadium, but the website gives details of Park & Ride sites that are signposted from the M5 J30. Please read the details carefully, it is cheaper to book parking in advance, it looks like there are 2 Park & Ride sites (Crealy Adventure Park or Westpoint Arena), but which one is used varies on a match to match basis.
